Developing Quality Practice with Harriet Price
Harriet Price is working for Toad Hall to help develop quality practice across the nurseries.
She has extensive experience in delivering local and national training across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, developing and training on uses of technology with young children.
Harriet originally trained at London University where she completed a B.Ed and an MA in Language and Literature. She also has wide experience in working in inner-city nursery and primary schools. Harriet was Head of a large Early Years Centre in Cambridge that included a maintained nursery school, a Children’s Centre and a Community Hub that later became a Teaching School. Harriet led the Centre in developing and delivering training both locally and nationally and the Centre became well known and visited for its quality provision.
Harriet worked for the ICT services in Cambridge, training practitioners in uses of technology in Early Years settings and schools. Later she worked for the National Strategies rolling out uses of technology across the country. She taught ICT on the PGCE syllabus for the Faculty of Education at Cambridge University and delivered training for many local authorities.
Harriet has written numerous articles and a book titled “The really useful book of ICT in the Early Years”. She wrote e-learning programs for The National Strategies focused on areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage including the particularly successful Communication, Language and Literacy programme. Harriet developed a website to freely share the ICT work that was developed over the years.
Harriet is currently retired but unwilling to completely give up the work she loves. She made a decision to move out of education and into childcare to join others in developing quality practice in challenging times!
