We are proud of the early years training and development opportunities that we provide at Toad Hall. Whether you are looking to further your career in childcare, or learn new skills for the role that you already do, there’s something for everyone.
We have around 75 people across the company currently studying a qualification including:
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Children’s Learning and Development (EYE), Intermediate
- Apprenticeship in Team Leading, Advanced Apprenticeship in Management and Higher

In-house nursery staff development
For staff interested in developing their leadership and management skills, there’s Recruitment and Selection, Attendance Management, Leadership Skills and Disciplinary Investigations.
All staff, regardless of their role, are encouraged to become ‘champions’ in any areas that are of particular interest to them. This means you get to lead on the company’s initiatives and be part of the project groups that create and maintain the training and initiatives.
Toad Hall staff also attend a variety of local authority training, mentor skills training sessions, and in 2016 we introduced a Mental Health First Aid course for managers to provide additional training and coaching support to develop line managers’ skills and capabilities around employee well-being.
To support staff through their Level 3 (EYE) and enhance their early years training, we place a cohort of employees through their English and Maths GCSEs.
