- Toad Hall Nursery Group has reported data for our employees. The consolidated data shows we have a gender pay gap of 29% on a mean basis and 8.7% on a median basis.
- We are totally committed to reducing this gap. This was primarily due to the gender imbalance in senior roles compared to the junior roles in the organisation and we have taken a number of actions to address this.
What is Gender Pay Gap data and what has Toad Hall Nursery Group reported?
Since April 2017, all UK companies with over 250 employees must disclose data about the gap between average male and female salaries and bonuses.
The data is a calculation of the mean/median salary and bonus of men and women, regardless of role. Our overall gender pay gap is 29% on a mean basis and 7% on a median basis. The mean pay gap is the difference in the average hourly rate of men’s and women’s pay. The median pay gap is the difference between the midpoints in the ranges of men’s and women’s pay. The UK’s national gender pay gap is 18.4% on a median basis.

It is important to note that the gender pay gap is a separate issue to equal pay – i.e. the same pay for the same job. The difference between our mean and median pay gaps highlights this, as well as the data that shows that the proportion of women decreases in the upper pay quartile.
As a company that is committed to ensuring a diverse workforce, this is not acceptable and we have already been focused on efforts to reduce this gap.
