Toad Hall will shortly be introducing brand new spring/summer menus focusing on healthy eating for early years, in all its nurseries.
Toad Hall was previously recognised for the quality of food in our nurseries by the Soil Association and recently retained a Silver Food for Life Catering Award, which is a wonderful recognition of the quality of the food in our nursery settings.
The new spring summer menus show the % of a child’s daily nutritional requirements that we are aiming to meet with each meal and snack. The new menus will be implemented from the 3rd of April at each of our nurseries and children will be able to enjoy such diverse foods as Thai chicken curry, salmon and pea risotto and greek yoghurt with raspberry puree.
All the raw ingredients for the recipes meet our strict supplier sourcing guidelines, and the menus are well balanced and are designed to be healthy and nutritious for children. Read more about our approach to healthy eating for young children.
A balancing act!
There is always a lot of work behind the scenes implementing new menus – trying to get everything right, bearing in mind the need to balance food preferences, a diverse dietary intake and also the logistics of kitchen space, staff training and meeting the individual needs of all children in all 13 nurseries. However we really like the new menus and we are sure the children will do too!
