Willows Nursery is delighted to announce a new partnership with leading charity Parents and Children Together (PACT). This inspirational charity has been supporting and strengthening families since 1911 and works with hundreds of families each year across Reading and the Thames Valley. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for staff, parents and children at Willows Nursery to come together in raising vital funds for a great cause.
Through this new partnership, Willows can offer lots of different ways to support PACT’s vital work. We will be organising lots of fundraising and events and would love to see parents and children getting involved – watch this space for more details! We will also be able to run workshops for parents and offer space for PACT’s parent groups at Toad Hall. We are really keen to share Toad Hall’s market-leading healthy recipes at PACT’s Alana House, an award-winning community project for women with complex needs who have reached crisis point. This is a really valuable way for Toad Hall to use our expertise in healthy eating and nutrition to benefit vulnerable women and support their health and well-being.
Mandy Tucker, Willows Nursery Manager, says:
“Willows have chosen to partner with PACT because they do amazing work in our local community, helping so many vulnerable parents and children to strengthen their families and give them a better future. I have previously worked with PACT before so already knew about their incredible, life-changing work. This partnership is a fantastic way for us to build strong community links and really give something back. We are looking forward to getting started and hope to get lots of staff and parents on board to make this partnership a huge success!”
PACT offer a comprehensive range of services for parents and children. Their work includes adoption services, where they place children with secure and loving families and offer specialist post-placement therapeutic support so that the children and their new family have all the support they need. PACT’s award-winning FACTs service also includes counselling, art therapy and life-story opportunities to help children to overcome trauma and neglect. This support makes a huge difference to the young people and children who PACT work with.
PACT’s ground-breaking community projects include Alana House and Bounce Back 4 Kids which is an intensive support programme for children and their parent who have witnessed domestic abuse. This kind of specialist intervention is absolutely key to helping vulnerable children and parents build a brighter future.
