We have managed to get access to the building and we are pleased to report that we have managed to rescue all the Learning Journals, although some are looking a bit dusty and watermarked we think that they will still be useful to yourselves and your child’s new nursery. These will all be available when you come to the party on December 19th but if you do want it earlier then please drop us a note and we will arrange to drop them off for you at your child’s new nursery or you can call by to collect them from the Sea Cadets but do drop Katrina a note first. We also have some coats and other personal belongings that we will keep hold of for you to collect.
We have also begun the process of refunding your accounts and Lucy or Shazia will be getting in touch to confirm the amount and the accounts that have been credited. Those of you that have used one of our existing nurseries for short term care will have this amount deducted from your balance prior to the refund. If you are staying with us longer term then we will adjust your fees going forward. As I’m sure you can imagine this is quite a complex logistical operation and I do ask that you bear with us as we reconcile accounts and work out your refund. If you do have a real urgency for the refund then please let us know but we hope to get through most of them over the next couple of days. I am sure we will make some mistakes due to the complexity of the process and ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you think we have over or underpaid you. If you use childcare vouchers these will be sent back to the voucher company and credited back to your account. Each voucher company wants this to happen in a slightly different way but again we will let you know when this has happened so that you can look out for the credit on your account. Please do not hesitate to pick up the phone if you need to know what is happening with your account, you can be sure Lucy, Shazia and I know all of your accounts inside out and backwards!
I think that is all for today – I’ll get in touch later in the week to give you further news. I hope that you and your child are settling in well at whichever nursery you are now attending. I have heard some lovely stories about how welcoming the new nurseries have been and I am hoping that there are enough familiar faces with other children and parents that this has made the process a little easier for you.
Here’s hoping we all have a better week.
