As part of the Early Years’ Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we organise fun and learning activities to make sure that your child has a well-rounded nursery school experience.
Let’s get physical
Our activities promote a healthy lifestyle, helping your child to become confident and learn through lively and fun physical games. We have worked with Jo Blank to develop a programme that falls into four distinct areas namely, movement play, movement skills, movement and dance, and movement and learning.
Early language programme
The main purpose of our early language programme is to develop high quality speakers, attentive listeners and children who understand and enjoy what they are learning. We have developed and implemented a language programme that encourages children to learn at their own pace and become proficient in reading, writing and speaking.
Stork to walk (2 years)
Our stork to walk is a learning programme for 0 to 2-year olds focuses on key relationships and the need for nurturing and routines, the importance of communication with babies and their families, specific safeguarding issues for the under 2’s and the developmental milestones of children in this age group. Our staff are regularly trained in the care of babies.
Cook and grow
At Toad Hall Nurseries, we are dedicated to looking after and caring for your child. We organise activities like vegetable planting, gardening and more to inculcate the importance of eating healthy foods and making healthy choices. We teach children the importance of food and good nutrition. Each of our nurseries has a garden area where children learn to grow and care for plants and vegetables. We work closely with Judy More, a registered dietitian and nutritionist, to carefully prepare our day care meals.
Magical maths
Mathematics can be a difficult subject for many children and parents/carers. To make maths fun and to take away the stigma attached, Judith Stevens has developed educative programmes that explain fundamental maths concepts in a fun way. Each nursery has a Magical of Mathematics Champion who receives regular training and updates to ensure that all staff have the knowledge competency to deliver the programme.
